LSU Fan Day Report

Showed up at the River Center @ 1:00 pm to a crowd of roughly 1200 people that wrapped around the building and on top of the bridge that crosses River Rd. Anthony, Craig, James, Sophia, and Jason hadn't yet arrived so I started handing out tracts to the waiting crowd. When Anthony and Craig showed up, I took the megaphone and began to preach. I pointed out that over 90,000 people scream and shout as a man runs a football up and down a field and most show up in church the next morning and never sing praises to a Holy God. It was my intention to bring about the knowledge that our priorities are skewed and our worship is misguided. As I was preaching, a small group tried to shout me down with chants of L-S-U. I asked them if they were serious in their attempt to block the preaching of the Gospel and what excuse would they give to God for do so on the Day of Judgment. They stopped.

As I was wrapping up, a young man who identified himself as a youth pastor from a church in Jennings came up and complained that what we were doing had prevented him from completing his witnessing encounter with someone in the crowd. He said that what we did made the person to whom he was witnessing shut down. Though he claimed to not be mad at us, he was very animated in his protest. He boasted about the increases in size if his youth group in a very short time then seemed offended when Anthony pointed out that the growth was no indication of their salvation. Anthony told him that their fruit testified of their state of heart which seemed to resonate with him because he acknowledged the worldliness of his youth group.

I thank God for the opportunity to preach His Gospel and ask that He continue to bless what He is doing through us and to protect us from those who seek to squash it. Pray for us and for the souls of those who hear His truth.

LSU Fan Day

We will head down to the Baton Rouge River Center to preach to the crowd that will be standing in line for LSU Fan Day on August 9th. I will post a report afterwards with some possible video. Please pray for those who will hear the message and for us who will deliver it.
